Recently, the industrial test of new technology for vacuum safety, environmental protection, high efficiency and thermal insulation of tundish was carried out on the 45t tundish in the continuous casting workshop of the Special Steel Division of Laiwu Branch of Shandong Iron and Steel Company, and achieved success. The test results show that the new technology of vacuum efficient thermal insulation of the tundish has a significant effect. The temperature of the outer wall of the tundish is reduced by 80 ℃ ~ 100 ℃, which can reduce the tapping temperature by an average of 7 ℃ ~ 10 ℃. Improvement.
According to Professor Zhou Jian'an of Wuhan University of Science and Technology, the tundish is an important equipment for continuous casting production. The temperature of the molten steel in the tundish directly affects the smooth progress of the continuous casting process. The temperature drop of the tundish liquid is large, and the industry often uses high superheat casting, which leads to reduced drawing speed, increased risk of casting slab leakage, developed columnar crystals, small central equiaxed crystal area, severe center segregation and serious secondary oxidation tendency And other issues.
The new technology of vacuum efficient thermal insulation in the tundish can greatly reduce the heat loss of the metallurgical package, thereby reducing the liquid metal crust and improving the quality of the slab; it can greatly increase the temperature of the inner wall of the metallurgical package, reduce the baking times and time of the metallurgical package; Consumption, shorten the blowing time, stabilize the smelting process, and at the same time extend the life of the metallurgical package.
This technology has the advantages of low production cost, long service life, good thermal insulation performance, safety and environmental protection, and good working stability. It has been awarded a national invention patent.
